Back in 1996, when I got into poetry
Trying to gather stories I had in my mind knowingly
I came up with this silly one for you to read
Now I will share this on this site you might smile...indeed
In New York City you see the pollution in the air
Pass some gas while riding the subway and everyone has a stare
They even seem to be gasping for air
You dash out the train embarrassed with yourself
It's Christmas time you think you'd seen an elf
You catch a cab to 34th street
To see if you can get a bite to eat
You have a plain ol burger fries and a drink
Sitting next to you see a lady who's hair is pink
Something shiny catches your eye
You blink several times you think it's a lie
On the floor its a PENNY!
Then you see your friend Lenny
Who gives you a hug
While he sniffs his drug
You notice on his face there is a bug
YIKES
You start to scream
At the bug on Lenny's face that is green
Lenny screams with his breath unclean
He needs listrene
