Sounding general quarters!
The time has come
As our places have been set
To partake in the feasts​
Of nourishment
That makes us who we are.
A meeting of the​ minds
A journey into our hearts and souls
The joining of hands
As we bow our heads in prayer.
And the fulfillment of our bellies
To bring everything and everyone full circle.
Too much time has passed
There's no telling how much more we'll last.
Incrementally few and far between
Are the moments we have
As more lives ascend in succession.
What are we waiting for?
Gathering to celebrate
A loved one's home going
Is more likely to be seen
Than a good old fashioned get together
A celebration of and with lives
That are here now, today.
A sign of the times
Has been posted for all to see.
But will we look at it willingly?
Or will the blinders stay on
Allowing us to only see
What's in front of us as truth?
Opened minds opens eyes
To the corner sights of
The bigger picture
Allowing broadened horizons
To come into view.
Can you see it?
The time has come
We have been set in place
To share in the knowledge
Of who we are to and with one another
Building a foundation for young ones now
So their young ones can teach later.
