been friends for years now you say
why not me? I say to myself
these lines must not be crossed
couldn't stand the loss standing
in fire fanning flames kindling
things once was cool and calm
let's keep it in the friend zone
you've read the book page to page
no doubt highlighting some things
it's about getting to know you
I have nothing new to show you
we've talked what do I have to
tell you would I be longing to hear
from you not saying that you're
ancient news but I do prefer some one
new some one who I can grow into
not saying you're an old pair of shoes
more like my slippers the ones
that have been chewed through
fit for comfort that's what you are to
me comforting not the one I want to
come home to not the one I want
to come home to me why not you?
