sometimes sacrifices aren't up to par
not having enough to give in order to
gain is the source of pain told to
offer and tithe ten percent of our savings
as if we have enough to save what
is the price to be saved told to work
like a slave no income bills unpaid
feed our children a box lunch filled wit
things we wouldn't grocery shop for things we wouldn't
even eat hungry children don't sleep
they get up and roam the streets
pain maker strapped across their chest
frustrated with struggling looking for
someone to beat victimizing
society systematically out of hand
elderly shut ins can't get the medicine
power out can't pay the Edison
pastor say read your bible the bible
say feed my sheep but theirs
no shepherd for the heap no
souls to be kept it seems that
we were better off when we slept
but we can't take our eyes off of what we see
