Stare at a star filled sky as
Butterfly kisses encourage
Dandelion wishes.
Our most precious little ones
Who make us laugh are
The sunshines of our day.
The pitter patter of little feet
The oopsies and uh ohs
Catching us off guard seems
So hilarious to them.
Their priceless infectious laughter
That we’ll never get enough of
Will be the highlight of our stories
For years to come.
But as soon as they cry
We scoop them up in our arms
To whisk away their pain.
These tiny replicas of ourselves,
Our parents and grandparents
Are life’s multiple second chances,
The greatest blessings ever given.
Oh the joy of those smiling faces.
