Thank you Lord for another day
And now that the night is here
Please keep watch over us
‘Til the morning songbirds we hear.
Thank you for your grace and mercy
And every blessing you’ve given
We ask you to bless those with less
As they strive to keep on living.
For only you can open doors
That no other man is able
Bless their homes with warmth
And food upon their tables.
We request a special prayer
For those feeling anger and pain
Lord, comfort them endlessly
So your grace and mercy sustains.
Help them see an end to
Their trials and tribulations
Let your light shines upon them
So they seek you in meditation.
And for the grieving, dear Lord
Give them peace, mend their hearts
Cradle them in your arms so
From you they’ll never part.
And in closing as we lay our heads
Down for another night
Let us dream of the beautiful things
Until you show us morning’s light.
