watching the inauguration tears filled my eyes it wasn't because of all that went on and all that was sung that day it was when a young educated deeply melanated Poet stood up to the podium and said what she had to say every Poet in the world should be proud of a day to remember that we are the voices that ring loud for that we should be proud each and every race nationality society and community
we are the storytellers we are the griots we are the matriarchs we are the patriarchs we are the dogs that bark we are the sparks we are the ones who make the marks we are the ones with true grit we are the ones with heart we have the ability to change the weather with our form of art so stand in the spotlight and let your shine be shown for the world to see speak out let your words be known on earth from sea to shining sea
