Many people of today ask what is black history?
The hidden factor of our accomplishments aren't too clear to me
Is it really the celebration of blacks shrouded in obscurity
Hell much of our past still remains a mystery
many of us still walk in the dark
because nobody's willing to show us out of the park
of racial indifference, hate, to remain an outcast and see
Our God's name profaned to the point of blasphemy
in spite of new millenium, which marks a new era
we're still living in fear because of the constant terror
of not being understood; being judged unfairly
even those who makes it to top their names are remembered barely
across the land i hear "Keep Hope Alive!"
But is it really believable as we continue to thrive
on beans and rice, mere scraps from our massa's table
thinking that we're blessed, so we live in a lie worst than a fable
people wake up and smell the roses
take a stand for what's right, and read the law of Moses
Give praise to the creator, not he who believes in blistery
and discover your destiny in what is black history?
