IN EBONIC THANKSGIVING GRACE
Each day of our waning ebon lives
Let us in our beautiful blackness
Walk in the footsteps of him who
Helped the Liberator carry the
Redemptive sacred cross of
Our resurrective liberation.
Indeed, in these evil oppressive times,
As we walk through the shadows of death
Let’s continue to walk in the footsteps of one
Who in thanksgiving, fearlessly demonstrated
How we are to be in our God’s loving service by
Helping others in carrying their burdening crosses.
In thanksgiving labors of love, may our African
Ancestral blood, like that of Simon of Cyrene,
Continue to energize us in serving our God
By daily being in and of liberating services
To those who need our loving assistance
Climbing life’s Calvary-like mountains.
