The Sparrow’s Praise
I was watching a little sparrow just the other day
As I studied each move carefully I swore I heard him say
I cannot believe the miracle that has come to be
I pray not and fast not, but still god provides for me
As I fly about each day without a worry and simply care free
Through his grace and mercy, he has provided for me, a home to live in any tree
The lord really does know and understand my plight
To escape my enemies, he gave me the gift of flight
Though my family is quite large and I am really quite small
Through his great power, he lovingly cares for us all
I need not a kitchen, nor Chef to cook, my meals for me
Each day that I live, he provides a great delicacy
The earth is my home with the greatest boundaries unknown
Through the provisions he makes my blessings have grown
I am not a human with visions of great conquests, that is plain to see
But still the good lord has carefully, outlined my destiny
I need not a pillow, to lay my head to rest
Nor do I need silk sheets, to line my quaint little nest
Dear lord I thank you, for the great life that you provide
Through faith I believe, by your love it is all supplied
My creator I have praised you, from the time of my birth
I will give you praise and be thankful, until I leave this earth
Sometimes from a perch and sometimes from a cage
I will continue to give you the glory, in this present age
