Anthony...
Maybe having too much pride...
Is bad but you should
At least have some and
It shouldn't come as a
Surprise when you no longer
Recognize the person staring back
At you and it's true
Pride goeth before the fall
And Lord knows that some
Of us surely have further
To fall than others and
Having pride isn't an excuse
To run and hide from
What's already inside of you
Your pride has given you
A distorted view of this
World so cold...
Elle...
A world that is so bold,
Hard to hold,
Extremely difficult to mold...
To begin to shape it,
Is to have some pride in oneself
Is most certainly good for one’s health...
To feel accomplished in your good,
To skill yourself... you should
Being proud of from whence you came,
To build upon your good name...
To show others what you are made of
To share your gifts, is to share you & your love
You should not confuse it with conceit,
But know your worth, to feel complete
Too much pride is not character sound...
You’d find yourself alone with no one else around
But we all should pat ourselves on our own backs
Yet keep our humility within tack
Because it’s one thing to know your worth
And another to dictate it to the world
Allow your deeds to speak for itself....
Being a part of the good on the earth that unfurls
