The Useful Negro: Volume 1

CATEGORY

just different

Most people are useless
To the society at large
Forgotten before remembered
Don't know how lucky they are

The Useful Negro is different
He gets his fifteen minutes
But history still discards him
Just before he can win it

Please know this kind of story
Doesn't always end so well
Just ask Anita & Clarence
Both went through eternal hell

Clarence was chosen to replace
An iconic Man of Color
Thurgood Marshall anchored his people
Made sure the law didn't screw his brothers

They pitted Hill & Thomas
Against each other in a battle of wills
The idea was to discourage Anita
Make sure the accuser's resolve was killed

The situation was really two-fold
Wanted to injure Clarence if they could
Didn't have the votes to reject him
So sent him to SCOTUS as damaged goods

Dems never really cared about Anita

Or that she may have been violated

She was simply a Useful Negro

Leveraged to get Thomas eliminated

The only reason they selected Thomas
Was to replace another Black man
Let's forget Clarence didn't stand up
To Thurgood or his towering legend

Conservs had to replace Marshall
But they didn't want a staunch liberal
So they scraped bottom of the barrel
Went far-field Right and settled for drivel

But what about our girl Anita
Was a law professor in Norman
She became useful, so let's feed her
Girlfriend set feminist winds to stormin'

Hill shined a bright light on assault
And the women that were affected
Many stories tucked away in vaults
Far too long they had been neglected

Ultimately their stories became footnotes
The world moves on as it collects it's wits
Useful Negroes have a short shelf life
No longer valuable, tossed in history's pit
