I told her that I'll call her back in a few minutes
picked up a book instead and read for a few hours
a closed chapter on our happily ever after,
our paragraphs were no longer filled with laughter.
I even read faster trying to make the situation fun
but when a person isn't grateful for your time and mind
the Suns of mental and spiritual intimacy no longer shines.
The civilization that we were building no longer rises
instead it is brought down to loveless ruins.
