life

told every one around me
I will not stop it until it stops me
see I don't want to say
"if only" because if only won't
help me when it's too late
to do it what ever it is
"pursue it" people will say
"can't do it" because they won't try
look 'em deep in the eye
spread your feet apart
"do The Pride" you may look
crazy like you lost your mind
stand true like you about to climb
this year I plan to encourage
uplifting young minds
will I succeed all I need is
a seed one pupil willing to read
one to feed not here to save
the world from drowning
I can teach one to swim
and how to bout in a ring
when to duck when to swing
when in doubt use your brain
if agonies all you got
use the pain it will never ever
hurt the same again
it builds character thickens
skin tougher than shoe leather
hope I'm getting in
a few pounds worth of
musical motivational energy
who am I not to give back from
all the breath of life given to me
