When the music plays
Non-stop,
pulsating beats cascading symbols
Bongo beats strumming per seconds,
Break parts are incessant,
Apache horns and strings
In sets, I listen and enjoy
the capturing of momentary moves
Grooves are met, with head nods that are kept,
the soul approves
Seeming like an endless playlist,
mixed and remixed, with cuts and blends
Dub plates of favorites are played back on repeat
as rhythm intends
New songs are strum
as new favorites and old compete,
songs are sung
Effervescent sounds echoing on and
thru spirits radio ‘d heir waves
Turned on and zoomed in
and doing my dance, shimmy, skate and stomp, slide and pump
Mashing potatoes or just mashing toes of partners in groove,
finding unison
Even during breaks
as I for one reason or another was not in tune,
distracted or other worldly consumed
The music played on and will always continue,
beyond hears
in years to come
and that of those have gone on
To that day I lament,
not the pity of the music ever ending,
but the loss of loving fellow listeners
For faith in and of eternity,
it is always playing rhythmically,
just no longer shared in concerts with one of many
One final head nod,
for a new 2b ancestor,
hating the selector for changing the beat of a love one…..
who I listen to and who listened to me in the Rhythm of this here Life…
I will always remember your unique beat cuz….and
I will never forget you, for God is the DJ,
So DJ bring that beat back…..
Rhythm of Life still beats within me,
