Let down again
Support net ties unraveled
As I walked over the net
Suddenly with nothing but
Air beneath me we both
End up on the ground.
What good does it do
To tell me you’ll be there
And then not show?
You tell me things you
Want me to hear
But all I end up listening to
Is the sound of tears
Dripping in my ears.
Just a few though, you see
The show had to go on.
Nonetheless I did it without you,
It could’ve gone better, I believe
But now that the night is done
I’ll go home knowing that
Even though I was let down again,
I landed on my feet.
