Nurse,
I’m in need of a hug so deep,
delivering an almost literal
touch to my inner abyss.
I need it to pierce my skin,
down through the marrow
of my thoracic.
I need it to render me with
care as if easing my pain
level to none from ten.
Then—
I need you to carry record of
my smile like the wound you
just mended.
