I grew up knowing people with braids and barrettes. If you listen hard enough, you can still hear the barettes click-clacking together. They had personalities, I think they are some of the most honest people that I have ever known.
Back then it was free to earn their respect, now I have to work for it.
Im working at a higher level now. Some of those braid are on that give me the loot sh*t, others on that f*ck you and your clique. No longer rocking barettes and braid but on some newness.
It will be old in no time though. And there will be new newness but hopefully not the same ole sh*t.
There are many of us out here trying to elevate the game and we want to move past the pain even though we can still feel it. We can feel something else too.
We know whats coming next and are blessed to those that can work and wait to meet our prosperity, our glorious fate.
