Summertime vibe flow
Babies, children, young adults, elders.
Music freely flowing through beings
Causing head-bobs and foot shakes
Youngins in the pool cooling off
With the kiddie pool just as active.
Conversations traveling about the yard
The cook jams while managing the grill.
Brews make their rounds with
Some of the adults.
Such a variety of vittles
Now it’s the pick and choose game
To see what’s what
Because of food allergies.
Such torture!!
It’s all good though, LOL
Gotta stay safe.
Distant cousins of all ages
Meet again after years apart
As we celebrate the young
And welcome the new.
Vaguely familiar faces
Reintroduce themselves to everyone
As laughter lingers from
One group to another.
Vibes of protection keep
My mind from wandering
Allowing me to stay clear minded
While another coating of Off
Is soon to be in the making
Since the backyard bombers
Try to take advantage of
My weakening defense shield.
As the night moved on
Raindrops slowly began
Making their entrance
Ever so lightly without bother
Seemingly welcomed by all.
Ending the night with
Hugs, well wishes and hopes
Of seeing one another again,
It was a beautiful day.
