who’s afraid of the reaper
shop and crypt keeper
like the shepherd or the devil
watching over the sleep sheep
counting off one, two, three
ones gone missing
that makes four
can’t just walk away
while the others snore
keep the three sacrifice the fourth
on the seventh month
some will cry so tell them the truth
making them believe the reason why
if breads on sale they will buy
a two day old lie break it
and feed it to their young
and watch them die
free to question but never
ask why always inside but
never know what’s behind the blinds
