In Loving Memory of Geneva Farrar-Santiago
As the leaves of trees
Fell to the ground
The Lord's angels
Had gathered 'round,
Keeping watch
Through night and day,
Taking turns being with her
As she laid.
Quietly in slumber
Surrounded by love,
God took her by the hand
And they ascended above.
He saw our pain,
He knew of our grief
He comforted our hearts
When he gave her peace.
She fought long and hard
As if the fate of the world
Was on her shoulders
You see, God only gives
His hardest battles
To his strongest soldiers.
As Heaven came in Autumn
And the leaves fell from the trees
Our beloved can rest easy now
For her soul has been set free.
Remember with each heart that breaks
And every tear that falls
God doesn't call the qualified,
He qualifies the called.
