what's wrong with you

pigeon minded pigeon

why don't you fly off

off to bigger better things

don't you know how blessed

you are to have wings

instead you stay down

pecking around the ground

looking for crumbs

and dirty bread

standing out for handouts

go bathe yourself

you're a bird not a bum

you have sense enough

to get out of the way

that shows that you're not dumb

you have a free fly zone

It's so many of you

you won't have to fly alone

what's wrong with you

walking around like a dog

digging up lost bones

you act like your minds gone

you could make any place

in the world your home

someone stomps at you

you go away and then

you come right back

for more abuse

what is wrong with you

look around there's nothing

here to see but ground

nothings stopping you

what's holding you down

take flight to night

you don't even have to pack

just aim high and don't look back

This poem reminds of the panhandlers I bump into everywhere and all the time. Will work for food, yeah right you know folks will just fork over the money

Change is risky and risk frightens many into complacency. Love this piece. **applause**
