When we have a lot on our minds
And our heads hang low
It’s a sign that
It’s time to pray.
When it seems the weight of the world
Is upon our shoulders and we
Can’t bear to stand any longer,
It’s a sign that
It’s time to kneel and pray.
When our path’s light begins to
Dim before us and darkness
Sets out to overtake us
It’s a sign that
It’s time to stop and pray.
When we’re in a rush yet
Delayed for unknown reasons and
Later seen what could’ve been us,
Or arrive at our destination
Only to realize we weren’t late at all,
It’s a sign that it’s time to
Take a moment to stop and pray.
To put it in short,
The less we hold onto the world
The less of a hold it has on us.
The more we connect spiritually
The more understanding we
Become of one another and
The more we have an understanding
Of how things are supposed to be.
When we have extended periods of
Undisturbed time on our hands to
Just take in and reflect on everything
We have and have been through,
It’s a sign that God’s telling you
To stop, take a deep breath and
Look at everything He’s given you.
Appreciate all of what is before you.
He still has work for you to do.
