Allow me to reintroduce myself,
Standing before you is a multi talented
Stage fright nervous no matter
How many times she’s been up here,
God fearing woman who’s learned
To wear many hats over the years.
She’s a daughter, sister, cousin
Auntie, stepmom, Grand mom,
Great grand mom, friend and…widow
Who loves to cook
And lives to satisfy the
God appointed bellies, heart and minds of all
Who cross her path.
I decided to start writing poetry
What seems to be like a millennia ago
To learn how to understand people,
Their situations and to channel my
Negativity in a positive manner.
My poetry has taken me on a journey
Of highways, byways and pathways,
Where I’ve met an entirely new
Generation of souls both
Younger and older, past and present.
All of whom I have nothing but
Respect and encouragement for.
You see, I’m more of the
“Tug at your heartstrings,
Enlightening your soul
And “educating your mind”
Type of poet.
With writes like Heaven’s Light,
His Masterpiece and
Read Between the Lines.
I’m a strong believer in
Helping anyone in need.
I know my purpose for while I’m here
And this mission that I’ve chosen to accept
Is to share what I know through my poetry.
And no, it will not self destruct in five seconds.
I’m in this for the long haul.
