With different shades of hue
From light to dark
There's no replication for something pure and true
My black is beautiful
Check the mirror and see
My black gives me sense of importance and identity
I am proud of my black it represents a troubled race
Understand it's not all about the color of my face
It's about the strength that runs deep throughout my veins
The endurance of my ancestors that struggled through times of pain
Which let's me know I carry that exact same strength
And my children's children will be on the same wavelength

No matter what anyone say
And I'm delighted that God has made me this way
Deeming me worthy to carry such a torch
My black marks survivors Blessed and highly favored
No matter how hard the road may get
My black will never waver
It doesn't matter how hard the system may try to break us down
We will not be broken
We'll lift ourselves up and straighten up our crown

Check the books and see
After the attempt to strip our men of their spirit and humanity
And still they're able to walk with respect and dignity
Women made to parade nude and display their bodies as a circus show
My black had experienced all types of lows
But my black did not fade because of these things
It only reminds us that we are queens of Kings
Chains broken that was meant to tether
It's time to stands up and band together
My black is beautiful
This I know
But somewhere down the line there was a refusal to grow
After all the things our ancestors faced
And all the dreams they've tenaciously chased
Our actions today is causing much disgrace
But it's not too late to turn it all around
Stand up my black people and reclaim your crowns

Greatness should be a sense of duty
