My Prisoner

I hold him prisoner

locked away inside

amongst the darkest of my heart

and the shadows of my mind

he yells from deep within

he wails his tales of sin

and could cause my tail to spin

if i let him out of his pin

i let him out with the pen

but sometimes it's not enough

this is why for me to be free

i must keep him locked up

and if he ever shall escape

a lot of hell has broken loose

know that you should be afraid

when I'm not walking in these boots

for he walks alone

not even a shadow of doubt

or the light of belief

can keep up when he's out

and only i can stop him

for i am him and he is i

but sometimes we can't concur

and don't see eye to eye

so i hold him prisoner

locked away inside

for he is the darkest of my heart

and the shadows of my mind
