The Old American Negro Church Leader

Unspoken Wisdom Speaks

Where has the old American Negro Church Leaders gone? What happened to the ministers who sucked the life out of the congregation by bilking them out of every single dime he possibly could, while making promises he had neither the capacity nor intentions, whatsoever, of fulfilling?

Where has the old American Negro Church Leaders gone? What happened to the ministers who assumed a pious position and were mostly unapproachable by the general congregation; for his time and importance was more valuable than the time you spent on bending knees in your prayer closet in the presence of the Lord himself?

Where has the old American Negro Church Leaders gone? What happened to the ministers who understood, a poorly educated person of faith would easily part with their money and valuables; while he preyed on their belief of the lord will always provide for fools and babies or is it the weak and needy or perhaps the shortsighted and stupid?

Where has the old American Negro Church Leaders gone? What happened to the ministers who came into the community to strictly pilferage from the ill-educated church members and fled as a thief in the night without any intention to return or simply taking a single moment to look back for fear he might trip in his escape?

Where has the old American Negro church leaders gone? Maybe the mega churches of today’s greater society and times or possibly the struggling store front churches found on nearly every corner of our disorganized religious Village Community.

Where has the old American Negro church leaders gone?Assimilated into an integrated society where the bounty is plentiful, the suckers are many, and the feasting is fine.

Where has the old American Negro church leader gone? Well ah!                                                 On’ know

Oh man did you drop one!!!! Man preach!!! All of this comes from decades of mental and spiritual decadence mainly from our ancestors learning bad habits from their massa, now it's part of our dna. Stay sharing the truth and let the youngster know that the White Man ISN'T our friend, and that we should love each other instead of hating and preying on each other.

Truth....real talk!! Made me thing about Roosters and Hens in a coop (or co-op), the assumption is hens are bred to be eaten and the rooster is the enforcer of that order....but rooster must be eaten too, neuter, controlled the same way the hens are....(hope you get my drift...)...thanks for sharing!

Excellent write emcintyr. A powerful message long overdue. I agree with jojo's comment, we need to keep our younger generation as informed as possible. I touch on a similar subject matter in my piece entitled Read Between the Lines. Thank you for sharing this. Peace and blessings.

Bamb! "They gon"--Gone to capitalistic hell to pick up phone bibles and church atms. Went to my Brother-In-Love funeral, and when I got up to read the Scripture, the deacon passed me a phone and said, "Here, read from this." I had forgotten my reading glasses; so I quoted the 23 Psalms from memory. There remains so much work to do to get the Village back to the extended family reiigious mentality. Thanks for sharing, emcintyr1981. You have told it like it is; and how we need to get it back to where it ought to be. Peace and Love, mlowe5

Charles2 says:

Representatives ...of the creator ...are we all... without question. Honor, those worthy of providing guidance... Reward those who service to others, justifies their worthy of support ...for the sake of others, worthy of such. Chastise those demons who make a mockery of those principles which support and glorify the service of the many. There are many whose service is tainted, there are many who fall short ...in respect to the work at hand. And there are those whose intent is to deceive ...and to profit at the expense of the many... not that i would judge others by other than their own standards... but calling out those ...with ill intent... i wholeheartedly support ...send them to the hell of those from whom they take.

Thank you Charles2, in my other work I present those church leaders worthy of recognition for the good they do. During my informative years the one who were less inclined to serve others stand out quite obviously, even to a child. I appreciate your kind words and observations. PEACE

Hey, truth is what it is...TRUTH. To forgive is not to forget. We can all drink the wine and eat the bread of awareness. We serve The Almighty; and He knows who is who. If some have a need to have those, Judas, Peter, Timothy experiences, and those others...Peace and Love, mlowe5

Thank you brother mlowe5, Truth has a way of rising in the midst of a storm, so obvious yet so misunderstood until it is. I appreciate each of you. PEACE

Peace and God's Blessings to you and yours. This composition is a scathing commentary on the tattered condition of Churches Of Color and those who preside over them. I remember attending The New York Theological Seminary and learning about the characteristics that are supposed to exemplify the church. There is a word in the Greek Koinonia which is a word that deals with collective sharing and participation within the confines of the Church Body. More importantly Koinonia means "Having All Things In Common". When ministers have exorbitant wealth while any member of their congregation live in squalor and/or poverty, the premise of Koinonia is then lost. It is true that "The laborer is worthy of their wages", however, the preaching of "The Gospel or plainly The Good News" is not about the acquisition of money, goods, or power, but to tell people that Christ died for the iniquity of humanity, and that through His Blood, Death, and Resurrection the enmity between God and man was reconciled. The Apostle Paul said many times that he never preached The Word Of God for money or gain, because even in biblical times there were pilferers and opportunists who used the preaching of The Gospel to line their own pockets. "Woe to the pastors who lead my sheep astray" When the beauty and sanctity of Koinonia is not practiced The Body of Christ as an entity is compromised. Koinonia and Diakonia must return to the church...Indeed, the Body Of Christ must have "All Things In Common" so that none of its members suffer lack. Thank You @emcintyr1981 for this beautiful piece of prosery, which is also a wake up call and caveat to all the believers in The Body to be a cohesive whole. We who believe in Jesus represent His Body...But, Christ is The Head of body. May The Good Lord Continue To Bless You In Every Aspect Of Your Life...In Jesus' Name Amen...

Thank you Poetiq1der, your feedback is most encouraging. I grew up in a generation that the church leaders were revered as much as God in many ways. In today's society we must teach each other to beware of the self-serving servant. Peace
