When I thought about my friend today,
I immediately thought of you
Saying to myself as I worked
I wonder what they're up to.
It's been a while since we talked
In person and even on the phone
So I asked God to keep watch over you
And prayed you weren't alone.
I smile as I research the memory banks
Of the good times we used to share
Hearing the laughter replay in my mind
Makes rougher times easier to bare.
So as I write this for you, my friend
I hope you're thinking of me too,

And not communicating with you.
