Seeking refuge behind smiling eyes,
I dream as a hopeless child.
Wanting, but will never have.
Reaching for the out-of-reach,
My hope is fading fast.
Hopelessness and pain
Prey upon me like starved animals.
Despite my misfortunes,
My heart beats with anticipation.
Thoughts of future encounters
Linger in the back of my mind
Waiting for their turn
To be first in line, ready for action!
Communication is the master key
To our existence.
Unlocking every opportunity
We are given
To be in the same place and time,
Heart, soul and mind.
Finally we embrace!
Amidst an explosion of
Emotional fireworks,
Crack goes my back
As kiss goes our lips and
Our souls blend joyously
With one another.
We smile, we laugh, we kiss,
We caress in an endless whirlwind
Of physical emotions.
We exchange tears of joy and happiness.
Wanting nothing more than to be together.
Standing at the edge of that next step.
Do we take it to give each other
What we so desperately need?
Are we ready for that emotional cross over?
The point of no return?
Comfortable without change,
Distant love remains.
Longevity resides on both sides.
Departure pains my heart
And I grab hold once again.
As the sand of the hourglass
Nears its end.
Satisfied with the time we shared,
Just one more kiss before we go,
I seek refuge behind smiling eyes
And dream as a hopeful child.
Wanting and waiting.
Until love finds us together again...
